Brighton to sign Club Brugge defender Stefano Denswil on loan

Brighton are set to sign Club Brugge central defender Stefano Denswil on  a season-long loan, according to Sky sources.

The 24-year-old former Ajax and Dutch U21 international is wanted by Seagulls boss Chris Hughton to boost his defence.

Brighton are also reported to be in the market for a goalkeeper after losing out on signing Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez, who has opted to stay in Spain.

Hughton admitted last week that he expects competition on transfer deadline day to be fierce as he looks for new signings.

"It's a tough market, all I can guarantee is that we'll work as hard as we can," he said.
