Leicester have reached an agreement of just under £500,000 with Coventry to sign George Thomas, according to Sky sources.

The 20-year-old is out of contract but Coventry are due compensation and the Foxes have been trying to negotiate a settlement for a number of weeks.

Sky Sports News understands the agreement includes a number of add-ons based on the player's future performances and he is expected to complete the move in the next 24 hours.

Thomas - a Wales U20 international who scored the winner for Coventry in their EFL Trophy triumph at Wembley in April - has also been of interest to Swansea City.

But he is Leicester born and still lives in the city, and has been keen to move to his local club.

He is a product of Coventry's academy and the club offered him a new deal, ensuring they are due compensation for a player who has been on the books for 11 years.
