Everton manager Ronald Koeman says the club are in talks with Idrissa Gueye about a new deal for the midfielder.
The 28-year-old Senegal international came to Everton last summer from Aston Villa and has made a big impact, becoming a key figure in Koeman's squad.
And the manager said ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Apollon Limassol that the club were keen to agree a new deal with Gueye.
"It's true that we are in talks with him about a new contract," said Koeman.
"I'm really happy with him.
"I think he had a big impact with his aggression in the midfield last season.
"We lost a little bit of his aggression at the beginning of the season.
"Morgan (Schneiderlin) was struggling a little bit at the beginning of the season but both players did well against Man United and, in that game, Gana (Gueye) was perfect."
