We round up the latest Arsenal transfers rumours from around the British and European press on Monday, August 14.
Arsenal are ready to admit defeat in their pursuit of Thomas Lemar, according to the Daily Mail.
Monaco have so far rejected two Gunners bids in excess of £40m for the France international, and the Ligue 1 champions are confident they have won the battle to keep their man.
Jack Wilshere is a man in demand as it looks like his Arsenal days are numbered.
The England international, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, did not make the Gunners squad for their opening-day victory against Leicester and could be set for a permanent exit.
It looks like Wilshere will have plenty of options to consider, with The Sun claiming Newcastle, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are all interested in the 25-year-old.
The Daily Mirror, meanwhile, add that Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has made a fresh approach for Wilshere and his team-mate Lucas Perez.
With Wilshere in the final 12 months in his contract at the Emirates, Arsenal want to sell the midfielder for £20m, whereas Newcastle are believed to favour a loan.
The Magpies could also bring Perez to St James' Park on a temporary basis if the Gunners cannot shift him before the transfer window closes.
