We round up the latest Liverpool transfers rumours from around the British and European press on Sunday, August 6.
Virgil van Dijk has not handed in a transfer request at Southampton, according to the Irish Independent.
There have been reports that the defender has formally asked to leave as he trains away from the first team.
However, the Independent say a request has not been submitted and he has only asked verbally. It is added that Van Dijk "has set his heart on a move to Liverpool".
Barcelona are apparently "confident" that Liverpool will accept a 100m euro offer for Philippe Coutinho.
El Mundo Deportivo say negotiations are in the final stretch and a deal could be completed by Tuesday, with Coutinho set to sign a five-year contract.
Liverpool legend Ian Rush hopes Coutinho stays, telling the Irish Examiner: "If you let him go, you need someone to replace him and it's difficult to do that so far.
"From a Liverpool point of view, I'd love to see Coutinho stay for another year to see how they can do in the Champions League and take it from there. We've done it with [Luis] Suarez. Let's hope he's still there come Christmas."
Liverpool are still eyeing new transfer targets ahead of deadline day, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.
