Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti says Ivan Perisic “is determined to remain” at the club amid renewed speculation over a potential move to Manchester United.
United had been keen to bring the Croatia international to Old Trafford this summer but, while Sky sources understand they were close to agreeing a fee with the Serie A side, no deal was made.
However, recent reports have suggested that United were set to resume talks with Inter for the 28-year-old this week but Spalletti says Perisic is keen to stay at the club.
"He is determined to remain, he has spoken as a footballer who wants to do well based on his professionalism," he said after Inter's 1-0 friendly win over Real Betis.
A fee had been a sticking point in protracted negotiations between the clubs, with it understood that Inter were holding out for £48m.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger joined Inter in 2015 and made 42 appearances last season, scoring 11 goals.
