With the transfer window now shut across most of Europe, the fallout from deadline day is still taking place. Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the continental media for the latest news and transfer rumours.

Spain

Barcelona tried to bring in Philippe Coutinho up until two hours before the Spanish window closed. Liverpool wanted €160m (£146m) as a fixed price for the Brazilian with him arriving in January, but the La Liga side were only willing to offer €120m (£110m) plus €40m (£36m) in add-ons and wanted him now. Angel Di Maria was also a Barcelona transfer target as they tried to bring some more faces in before the window shut, but they were put off by Paris Saint-Germain's €80m (£73m) asking price. (Mundo Deportivo)

As Barcelona looked to bring in the 'one or two' more signings promised by sporting director Robert Fernandez, they unsuccessfully made a late attempt to buy Thomas Lemar from Monaco. (Sport)
