Bournemouth will be looking to end their poor run of form in the FA Cup third round against Wigan on Saturday.

They have won just one of their last 11 matches in all competitions and have conceded 14 goals in their last five Premier League games.

Eddie Howe's side will take on the 2013 FA Cup winners a year on from crashing out to Millwall in the third round.

Cherries defender Steve Cook is keen to banish the memory of Cherries' FA Cup nightmare of last season.

"We want to put that right and keep our form going by beating Wigan," Cook told the Daily Echo.

"They have been excellent. I know Shaun MacDonald and Alex Bruce there and it will be nice to see them if they come down."

Meanwhile, Paul Cook's Wigan side are flying in Sky Bet League One, unbeaten in eight games with an outstanding defensive record of six consecutive clean sheets.

Team news

Josh King (hamstring), Tyrone Mings (back), Jermain Defoe (ankle) and Junior Stanislas (hamstring) remained sidelined.

Ryan Colclough could return to the Wigan squad following a shoulder injury, Alex Bruce is struggling with a back problem, and Shaun MacDonald and Craig Morgan are progressing well in full training.

Opta stats

These two sides have met as recently in the FA Cup as 2013 when Wigan won 1-0 in a third-round replay. In fact, this was the start of the Latics' journey to winning the trophy that season.

That replay was the last time that the Cherries have drawn an FA Cup game, winning four and losing five since.

Wigan have lost just one of their last seven FA Cup games against Premier League opponents (W5 D1) - losing 4-0 to Man Utd last season in the fourth round.

Bournemouth have lost three of their last four home games in the FA Cup (W1), failing to score in each defeat, including the replay against Wigan in 2013.
