Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was not happy with Jamie Carragher after comments he made regarding his Chelsea players after Wednesday's Champions League tie

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit back at Sky Sports' Jamie Carragher - claiming he has "a short memory".

Carragher joined Graeme Souness in heavily criticising Chelsea's players during the Champions League last-16 exit to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, branding their behavior as "disgraceful".

Nine of Chelsea's outfield players swarmed around the referee following a heavy challenge from Zlatan Ibrahimovic that led to the Swede's sending off - and Carragher said this kind of gamesmanship is a symptom of Mourinho's teams.

But speaking ahead of his side's Super Sunday clash at Southampton, Mourinho said: "The world is strange, maybe because of our diets or the products we are eating, but memories are getting shorter.

It doesn't look like I'll get Jose on Monday Night Football!
Carragher's response on Twitter

"When Jamie Carragher is talking about it, he is having a problem for sure. Jamie stopped playing two years ago and in that time he forgot what he did on the pitch.

"I'm about a certain kind of education, not just in football but in life, and I prefer to laugh. Envy is the biggest tribute that the shadows do to a man. It's about life."

Carragher immediately responded on Twitter, joking: "It doesn't look like I'll get Jose on Monday Night Football!"

And Mourinho refused to discuss their Champions League exit any further, telling our reporter to "move on".

"If you want to speak about the Champions League, go and speak to Arsene Wenger or Manuel Pellegrini because they are in the Champions League," Mourinho said.

"We are out. We played eight matches and lost zero but didn’t get the result we needed to get to the quarter-finals.

"I try to win the Premier League and if we win the Premier League then a season with the Premier League and Capital One Cup is a good season."
