Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to pay more than £40m to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, according to Sky sources.

Contrary to reports from France on Tuesday of a €50m (£44.7m) bid from PSG, Sky Sports News understands Arsenal have yet to receive an offer for Sanchez from the Ligue 1 side.

Sanchez has just 12 months left on his Arsenal contract, but manager Arsene Wenger is adamant the club have made a decision not to sell the 28-year-old and will stick to that.

PSG will look to test Arsenal's nerve though, with the French side also willing to offer Sanchez more than £250,000 a week.
