Jamie Vardy insists he will accept whatever role Gareth Southgate has for him when England play Germany and Brazil in the coming days.
The Leicester striker has overcome a hip injury to be part of the squad for the friendly double-header.
With Southgate unlikely to use two strikers, however, it's expected Vardy will find himself deployed as a substitute.
The 30-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I just have to keep on doing what I'm doing. I've been selected because of what I'm doing for my club.
"I need to get on that training field and make sure I'm putting in 100 per cent and I'm in the manager's plans. If that's to come off the bench and make an impact then that's what it will be."
The games at Wembley are important for Southgate to gauge his squad's progress ahead of next summer's World Cup finals in Russia.
For Vardy, the first game will bring back memories of his first international goal in England's 3-2 win over Germany in Berlin in March 2016.
He added: "It was a massive moment for me, especially with the situation where we were 2-0 down and coming back to win 3-2.
"But this is going to be a completely different game. We're on home soil and we want to get about them and try to get the result.
"I don't think you can call any match a friendly. We've made sure we're playing against some of the best teams in the world and we want to show what we're about.
"It'll be good competition for the lads and obviously we hope we'll get the results."
Vardy has come into the England squad off the back of a promising start to life under new manager Claude Puel at Leicester.
While it was disappointing for the striker to see previous manager Craig Shakespeare leave Leicester, he has been encouraged by Puel's start.
Vardy said: "He's been good and he's not changed too much. The new manager's come in and four points from two games is good.
"He has told us he'll probably change a few things coming up in the future after the international break, but he says they're only going to be little things.
"He'll be doing what he thinks will make us better so we're looking forward to it.
"I think it's just one of those things in football (Shakespeare's sacking). No one's ever safe, especially in the managerial positions.
"Managers come and go and I think as players, you get used to that and it's part of football. It's a points industry and results industry."
