Bournemouth defender Adam Smith has signed a new four-year contract at the club.

Smith, 26, joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal from Tottenham in 2014, and made 36 appearances for the Premier League side last season.

The new deal will see Smith remain at the Vitality Stadium until 2021.

"I'm delighted," Smith told Bournemouth's official website. "I'm settled in the area and get along really well with the lads.

"There is nowhere else I want to be at this moment. Everything is going well for me both on and off the pitch and I'm looking forward to that continuing."

Eddie Howe insists Max Gradel is in his plans despite interest from French Ligue 1 club Toulouse.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe initially took Smith to the club on loan before signing the full-back on a permanent deal and he believes his faith in the player has been rewarded.
