Chris Ramsey is one of English football's most recognisable black coaches but who was his icon growing up?

Sky Sports' groundbreaking My Icon series coincides with Black History Month and has been showcasing Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic [BAME] sportsmen and women on Sky Sports Mix and online every day in October.

Elite level BAME athletes past and present have shared their journeys with us. They have explained who their early mentors and inspirations were, discussed the barriers they have overcome and given their take on diversity and inclusion within their respective sports.

Football's Rooney Rule pioneer Ricky Hill is disappointed with the lack of progress for BAME coaches

QPR technical director Ramsey is one of relatively few black coaches thriving in professional football in this country but who did he admire, look up to and aspire to be like when he was younger?

Ramsey joined football's Rooney Rule architect Ricky Hill at a Black History football event in association with the Paul Canoville Foundation where the pair discussed their football role models.
