Benfica midfielder Erdal Rakip is to undergo a medical at Crystal Palace today ahead of a loan move for the rest of the season, Sky Sports News understands.

Rakip, a 21-year-old Sweden U21 international, only signed for the Portuguese club this month after his contract at Malmo FF came to an end.

The creative midfielder signed a long-term deal keeping him at the Estadio da Luz until 2022, but they are prepared to loan him to Palace for the rest of the season to aid his development.

Rakip scored nine goals in 30 games to help Malmo lift the 2017 Swedish title. He flew into London on Friday with his advisor Hasan Cetinkaya for talks and a medical.
