Southampton agree deal to sign Mario Lemina from Juventus

Southampton have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Mario Lemina from Juventus, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports News understands the Saints will pay an initial £16m for the 23-year-old, with the deal potentially rising to £20m.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed Lemina would be leaving the club following his side's 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday.

Lemina is expected to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of his move to St Mary's and is set to become manager Mauricio Pellegrino's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Jan Bednarek at the club.

Southampton are also set to beat Premier League rivals Stoke to the signature of Lemina, with Potters having held talks with Juventus over a possible deal on Friday.

Lemina joined Juventus from Marseille in 2015 and has since helped the club win two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia cups.
