West Ham manager Slaven Bilic was delighted with how his team handled the pressure to beat Swansea.
Substitute Diafra Sakho scored West Ham's winner in the final minute to secure a crucial 1-0 victory over Swansea, which is just their second win of the season, to relieve the pressure on manager Bilic.
Victory for West Ham lifts the east London club up to 15th in the Premier League table and Bilic admits the win was vital, with the players were under a lot of strain to deliver a positive result.
"We started well and on the front foot but after that they had much more of the ball and we were losing it with simple passes. It drains the confidence out of the players," he said.
"We are under pressure and the players feel it, but at least we showed the determination, character and teamwork and that's what gave us the three points today.
"It was a crucial game no matter what I said before the game. The players know. Sometimes it gives you more determination but it can also damage confidence. But because of that we won today's game."
The Croatian manager also insisted that even though he's under heavy pressure, there are clear signs of improvement on the pitch.
"It's not very important my position," he added.
"All I can say is since the last international break we've played four games, got two wins and seven points. We've improved a lot, got three clean sheets [in the Premier League].
"We can play better but we've done well in the last month."
