Arsenal loanee Stephy Mavdidi scored his first senior goal with an impressive solo effort for Charlton.

Mavididi picked up possession on the left and ran into the area, cutting inside an Oldham defender before drilling a low shot past Johny Placide from eight yards.

It was a superb effort from the 19-year-old, one made all the more important by the fact it secured a 1-0 victory for the Addicks on Saturday in Sky Bet League One, ending a run of eight games without a win for Karl Robinson's side.

Mavdidi had spent the first half of the season on loan at Preston, but struggled to make much of an impression in the Sky Bet Championship.

The youngster is yet to make an appearance for Arsenal, but did have a short spell on loan at Charlton last season, and will hope to now build on this impressive start.
