Newcastle are set to sign Tottenham right-back DeAndre Yedlin, according to Sky sources.

The 23-year-old is in Newcastle for a medical ahead of a permanent move away from White Hart Lane, after a deal was agreed between the clubs.

Yedlin spent last season on loan at the Magpies' rivals Sunderland, where he made 25 appearances in all competitions, and could be joined at St James' Park by Brentford winger Alan Judge, who is in talks with the north east club.

The USA international looks set to be the fifth player to move from the Premier League to Newcastle this summer, following the arrivals of Dwight Gayle (Crystal Palace), Matt Ritchie (Bournemouth), Isaac Hayden (Arsenal) and Mo Diame (Hull).

Yedlin signed for Spurs from Seattle Sounders two summers ago but continued to play for the Major League Soccer club until January 2015, and was dubbed one for the future after receiving a work permit.

But he has not been able to break into Mauricio Pochettino's plans and is behind Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier for a spot at right-back.

Pochettino is also keen to bring through promising youngster Kyle Walker-Peters, whom he took on the pre-season tour of Australia.

Yedlin is one of a number of players Tottenham are prepared to sell before the end of the transfer window, including midfielders Ryan Mason, who is the subject of talks between Spurs and Hull City, and Tom Carroll, and winger Nacer Chadli.

Wolfsburg are interested in forward Heung-Min Son but he remains part of Pochettino's plans and is keen to make a success of his second season at White Hart Lane.

Clinton N'Jie is expected to join Marseille on a season-long loan as part of a deal for Tottenham to sign France U21 winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou.
