Harry Kane admits he is "sad to see September end" after 13 goals in eight games for Tottenham and England.

Another barren August for Kane, his third in a row, was quickly put behind him when Kane scored twice in England's win over Malta on the opening day of September.

That sparked an outstanding 30-day spell which was rounded off with a double in Tottenham's 4-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.

Kane scored a hat-trick away at Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League as well as doubles in games against Everton, Borussia Dortmund and West Ham.

"It's a pleasure to play in this team," Kane said after the victory over Huddersfield.

"I'm there to put most of the chances away, but when you've got Dele (Alli) and Christian (Eriksen), and you've got Ben (Davies) and Tripps (Kieran Trippier) out in the wide areas and the guys backing it up from the back - it all helps.

"We've got a great unit at the minute. We've got a great squad.

Europe's elite clubs would pay £150m for 'great' Harry Kane - but there's no chance Tottenham will let him go in the next 18 months, says Gary Neville

"It's been a good month. September's been one of those months when everything's gone my way. I'm sad to see it end really."

Kane, who is chasing his third-straight Golden Boot, added: "I just feel confident. Every chance I get in and around the box I feel like I'm going to score, or definitely work the keeper.

"I'm a little disappointed not to go on and get another hat-trick, but it was a great result."
