Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks started his first game for five months in Tuesday's Carabao Cup win against Barnsley.
An ankle injury sustained in April cut short Winks' breakthrough season, which included 21 Premier League appearances as well as four in the Champions League.
With Victor Wanyama out due to a knee injury and Mousa Dembele managing a long-standing foot problem, the 21-year-old's return could not have been better timed for Tottenham.
"I feel like I'm 100 per cent now," Winks said after the game.
"It was a perfect opportunity to go out there and really put everything behind me and just move on, and start the season from now.
"It's difficult when you're playing at 70 per cent in training and you know you're really giving it everything you can but there's a little bit of pain here and there, which is frustrating. But it's football.
"Luckily enough I can say, touch wood, that everything's ok now and it's really feeling good and I'm feeling confident and strong."
Next up for Winks and Tottenham is a Saturday lunchtime trip to the London Stadium to take on rivals West Ham, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
