Tottenham midfielder Marcus Edwards has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2020.
The 18-year-old, who has represented England at U16 - U19 levels, was last year likened to Lionel Messi by Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.
"The qualities - it's only looks, his body and the way that he plays - remember a little bit from the beginning of Messi," the Argentinian said in September.
Edwards helped England's U19s win the European Championship earlier this month, playing a crucial role by producing a cross to set up the only goal in the Young Lions' 1-0 semi-final win over Czech Republic.
The youngster joined Tottenham's academy at the age of eight, before going on to sign his first professional contract with the club in August 2016.
He made his first-team debut in the side's 5-0 EFL Cup victory over Gillingham in September and came close to registering a first senior goal, but was denied by a fine save from the Gills' goalkeeper.
