We round up the latest Liverpool transfers rumours from around the British and European press on Saturday, August 5.
Phil Thompson thinks it is "vital" that Liverpool keep hold of Philippe Coutinho this summer.
The founder of Catalan paper Sport has claimed on Twitter that Coutinho will be a Barcelona player soon.
Jose Luis Carazo has tweeted: "He will join Barcelona. [Ernesto] Valverde has asked for him. He will arrive soon".
Coutinho has been left out of Liverpool's squad for the friendly against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday night with an injury.
Former Liverpool player and assistant Thompson told the the Irish Independent: "One of the big things at the moment is that he hasn't asked to move and that becomes pivotal. If he comes along and says 'this is Barcelona and I'd love if a way can be found' then you've got a problem.
"It's a downward spiral then and you are hoping upon hope you get through the month without him going."
However, Thompson added: "It would be a blow but, looking at the players you've got there now, the likes of [Mohamed] Salah, [Sadio] Mane, [Roberto] Firmino, [Adam] Lallana, you've got four there with a bit of a wow factor and he fits in with all of that."
Netherlands manager Dick Advocaat thinks Southampton should let Virgil van Dijk leave this summer.
