Adam Lallana: Europa League glory can act as the catalyst for success

Liverpool’s Adam Lallana believes that Europa League glory can help Liverpool catch the winning 'bug'.

The attacking midfielder also predicted an exciting end to the Premier League season as the team continue to enjoy success during Jurgen Klopp's era at Anfield.

He said: "It is a young squad but I feel we need to win something to feel what it is like to win and almost make it like a bug, just keep going."

Lallana scored Liverpool's third goal against Villa Real last night to send the club through to their first European final in nine years, 3-1 on aggregate.

And no doubt desperate to erase the memory of February's penalty shoot-out loss to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley, he is going into the Europa League final determined to succeed.

He said: "This is our second final this year but we know we need to bring the cup home."

However the England International is aware of the threat Sevilla pose with the Spanish side bidding for their third successive Europa League title in Basel on May 18.

Lallana said: "They've won it the last two years - it's going to be a difficult game. We'll respect them and what they've achieved, but we'll be focusing on ourselves.

"If we play like that we can beat anyone."

Lallana, who was one of the Liverpool's star performers in an impressive all-round performance, has shown continued improvement under Klopp and is grateful for his manager's trust.

He said: "I just think he realises my qualities. They might not always stand out. I might not always be man of the match every week. But I think he just appreciates what I bring to the team.
