Jose Mourinho touched the leg of Mo Farah during the post-match #Game4Grenfell chat, emulating a similar moment between Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher.
The Manchester United manager took a turn in goal during the charity match at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon to raise money for those affected by the tragic Grenfell Tower fire.
British runner Farah also took part in the game and was named man of the match, scoring the opening goal for Les Ferdinand's team, who won the game 5-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw against Alan Shearer's side.
After the game, Mourinho and Farah joined host Adam Hills and Alan Davies in the Sky 1 studio to discuss the game, with the four-time Olympic gold medallist expressing his delight at being able to play alongside the manager and other stars.
It led Mourinho to touch him on the leg in a show of respect, before apologising for emulating the same thigh touch between Henry and Carragher when it was announced live on air that Brendan Rodgers was sacked as Liverpool manager in 2015.
