Manchester City are lining up a £35m swoop for Alexis Sanchez after losing Gabriel Jesus for two months, the Daily Mail reports.

The newspaper claims that Arsenal would consider offers of £35m for Sanchez having turned down a £60m bid from City a few months ago, with the Chile international available on a free transfer in the upcoming summer window.

A number of players are being touted as replacements for Sanchez, with the Independent claiming that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Boca Juniors' Cristian Pavon.

He has scored three goals and nabbed six assists in 12 Argentine Primera Division games so far this season with Man City and Juventus also said to be interested.

A bit closer to home and Don Balon says that the Gunners want Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vazquez to come in for Sanchez, with manager Arsene Wenger believing he has similar traits to the Chile forward.

One player who probably will not be arriving at the Emirates is Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Wenger said he is "not a possibility" for Arsenal.

Reports have emerged this week suggesting that Aubameyang topped an Arsenal shortlist of possible replacements for Sanchez, but when asked on Friday, the manager said: "No, it is not a possibility."

Away from Sanchez, Besiktas are reportedly looking at a move for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud after cashing in on Cenk Tosun, according to the Mirror.

They need a replacement for their former striker and with Giroud struggling to hold down a regular place at the Emirates, the Turkish side could swoop for his services.
