Gary Neville analyses Ryan Giggs’ 1999 wondergoal: ‘He should have passed’

The TV pundit gave Giggs’ goal the Sky Pad treatment and joked that his decision to dribble through the Arsenal defence rather than finding a team-mate was ‘an absolute scandal’

Ryan Giggs’ winding dribble and finish past David Seaman has gone down as one of the great goals of our time. But Gary Neville has put a new slant on things. Using his Sky Sports gizmos, Neville was able to slow down the action and pick out the passes Giggs should have made. Neville, who provided the lighthearted analysis at a charity awards ceremony, joked that Giggs had been “a bit greedy” to glide by all of those Arsenal defenders and not set up one of his better-placed team-mates.
