England striker missed a decent early chance at Anfield after being given the nod by French manager
ARSENE WENGER has again drawn the anger of Arsenal fans.
The Gunners are at Anfield to face Liverpool in their biggest game of the season so far.
But the French boss - who signed a two-year deal earlier this summer after a year of fan protests and marches - has again upset the North London faithful.
For the must-win match against the Reds, Wenger decided to drop the club's record signing, Alexandre Lacazette.
The France striker, who scored on his Premier League debut after a £52million move from Lyon, could only find a place on the bench at Anfield.
Wenger claimed that Lacazette is still 'adapting' to the rigours of English football.
He said: "Lacazette is still in an adaptation phase.
"It's down to the fact the trio finished well the season before and they are used to the big occasions in the Premier League.
"It's difficult to choose from."
Wenger instead picked Danny Welbeck, a fan favourite at Arsenal for his hard work but a striker who struggles to score goals.
