ALVARO MORATA appears to have dyed his hair red ahead of his transfer to Old Trafford - just before the move fell through and United signed Romelu Lukaku.

The 24-year-old was spotted training with the Spanish giants yesterday with an obvious red tint to his newly-shorn scalp.

According to Spanish publication Marca, the in-demand striker had regrettably dyed his hair red ahead of his move to Old Trafford.

To avoid further embarrassment, the world-class striker opted for the buzz cut.

United's deal with Madrid for Morata grew tiresome and in this time, the Premier League giants focused their attention elsewhere.

Real Madrid were not keen on selling the 19-time goalscorer of last term, which led to United signing Romelu Lukaku for a record-breaking £75million.

However, we may still see Morata in the Premier League next season.

The 24-year-old is now on Chelsea's radar as the Blues hunt for an apt replacement of Diego Costa.

It appears that the striker is not short of options, with Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjin reportedly ready offer a £500,000-a-week move.

The Spaniard is currently in Los Angeles training with Zinedine Zidane's side, but his future remains uncertain.

Madrid prepare to face Manchester United on July 23, before playing them again in the UEFA Super Cup at the start of August.

The two European giants were training at UCLA this week, but tempers have began to flare between the two clubs.

Real Madrid and United were warring over who had the best facilities, the best hotel and who would use which pitch.
