MANCHESTER CITY'S Fabian Delph was forced off in the first half with a suspected knee injury during their clash with Liverpool.
The England left-back was replaced in the 31st minute for summer signing Danilo despite his reluctance to come off the field.
The 28-year-old appeared to jar his knee when he went in for a tackle on Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Delph rolled on the floor in pain before the City physios made their way onto the pitch for treatment.
Boss Pep Guardiola ordered Danilo to brace himself to come on but Delph took matters into his own hands by demanding he was fine to continue.
But his afternoon lasted just a few more minutes when he eventually called it quits and headed for treatment.
He will now have a scan on the knee to assess the seriousness of the injury.
But a lengthy spell on the sidelines could prove a massive blow to Delph who has forced his way into Guardiola's first-team this season.

Liverpool took a ninth minute lead through Oxlade-Chamberlain's powerful drive.
But City equalised close to half-time when Leroy Sane beat Loris Karius at his near post.
