Tyrone Mings hits out at Twitter for not doing enough to tackle racism after receiving abuse from several users
Bournemouth defender called out two tweeters who called him 'n*****' and believes fault lies with social media site's rules
TYRONE MINGS has hit out at Twitter for its refusal to sufficiently combat racism after receiving abuse.
The Bournemouth defender was criticising the lenient sentence handed out to the man who racially assaulted Raheem Sterling.
And, in his explanation, claimed comments and posts on social media are just as hurtful, yet very little is done to stop it.
He said: "So you get 16 weeks for this... But on social media it’s all too easy to be racist, just hide behind a fake picture, fake details & get away with it?"
But he was hit with horrific abuse — including to separate usages of the N-word, which he highlighted.
User @drogbaye replied: "How the f*** is cyberbullying real hahahah like close your eyes n****".
Mings quoted it in a separate post.
Another user, @FutboICal, simply replied with the word: "N*****".
And Mings took exception to it, insisting it should be the social media site's responsibility to make it more difficult for these types of incidents to occur.
He quoted it with the words: "See you, as a person/ account, I have no problem with because you’re clearly trying to get a reaction.

"The social media rules & how easy it is to type those 6 letters & publish them, that’s what’s pathetic. (Especially you, @Twitter)".
It is the latest in a series of shocking incidents involving racism in football.
As well as the attack on Sterling, Antoine Griezmann was forced to issue an apology after "blacking up" for a fancy dress party.
The account, @FutboICal, was suspended soon after the abusive tweet.
