CHELSEA hero John Obi-Mikel is not interested in a Premier League return with Everton.

The Nigeria midfielder is playing for Tianjin Teda in the Chinese Super League, after a decade at Stamford Bridge.

The two-time Premier League winner - who was infamously stashed in the boot of a car to complete his controversial move to the Blues instead of Man United – is happy in the CSL.

Everton will have money to spend in the January and summer transfer windows after Sam Allardyce guided them up to ninth in his first few games.

But the 30-year-old Champions League winner will not be on the Toffees’ shopping list after he pledged his future to his Asian side.

Mikel told Tianjin TV: “I don't know from where such a rumour could come, but this story is untrue.

“I want to stay in the CSL and play for Teda. I'm sure there will be lots of speculation about me as the transfer window nears but it is a false rumour.

“The CSL lags behind the Premier League, but their level is still quite high. I believe more matches will help me get in shape for the 2018 World Cup.

“I just hope to stay injury free next year and have an amazing season with Teda.”
