Swansea to replace Paul Clement with Leon Britton if Liberty Stadium chiefs decide to change things around
The pressure is piling on Clement as Welsh side face tough relegation battle after a terrible first half to the season
SWANSEA legend Leon Britton will get the nod to step in for manager Paul Clement if results do not improve.
Britton has only recently been promoted to a coaching post, as SunSport first revealed, but he is first in line to take the hotseat at the Welsh club.
Clement has to turn the season around fast, starting with a crunch trip to Everton tomorrow, as there is concern about a dreadful season.
The former Derby County chief has failed to convince and, despite public support, there is private anxiety.
Britton, 35, is popular at the club and could be promoted in the same way as Garry Monk, who was given the chance when Michael Laudrup left.
Tony Pulis has been considered. His style gets results but the current squad has been playing a different way and some think the change would be too extreme.

Swansea have also been looking at Fulham coach Slavisa Jokanovic who plays the game like they do.
He has no Premier League experience but that may not be a problem in this crisis.

Clement takes his side to face resurgent Everton tomorrow knowing how close he came to working alongside Sam Allardyce with England.
The Swans gaffer has revealed the now-Toffees boss asked him to be his assistant in what proved to be a brief stint as Three Lions chief.

But Bayern Munich blocked the move with Clement then No 2 to Carlo Ancelotti and Allardyce was axed soon after over his off-pitch activities.
Clement, 45, said: “We were so close to working with each other and it would have been a great honour to work with the national team.
“But I don’t see it as dodging a bullet. It was always only going to be a part-time role. I was not going to leave Bayern.
