RYAN BERTRAND hilariously attempted to play off his embarrassing throw-in against Bournemouth in injury time.
The Southampton left-back was met by jeers from Cherries supporters after his throw looped in the air and failed to make it back in play.
As he attempted to send the ball down the line in the 91st minute, spin caused the ball to skew off wayward, as Bertrand winked to the crowd.
And in the midst of laughter, the former Chelsea defender simply smirked after the gaffe, as he pointed to his watch to imply it was all a time-wasting ploy.
The 28-year-old was celebrating after the full-time whistle though after the Saints fought back to snatch a point at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth took the lead in the south-coast derby just before half-time as Ryan Fraser fired Eddie Howe's side ahead.

But in-form striker Charlie Austin, who netted twice against Everton last Sunday to win 4-1, got on the score sheet for the fourth time in the Premier League this season.
The ex-QPR forward netted in the 61st minute as he dispatched his attempt beyond Asmir Begovic at the near post.
His strike sent Mauricio Pellegrino's side up to 11th in the table, while Bournemouth end the weekend in 14th spot.
Bertrand has been linked with a January swoop to Manchester City, with Southampton prepared to bring Luke Shaw back to St Mary's.
