John Stones compared to James Milner on Twitter after Sky Sports studio appearance

Fans have likened the Manchester City defender's TV appearance to the Twitter parody account based on Liverpol star

JOHN STONES has earned comparisons with former Manchester City and England star James Milner – but not in a good way.

Liverpool star Milner’s teetotal lifestyle and deadpan delivery have fuelled the brilliant Twitter parody account @BoringMilner.

The spoof social media account has 586,000 followers – including dozens of Premier League footballers - thanks to the dreary delivery of mundane observations.

And cruel Twitter users have compared Stones’ appearance in the Sky Sports Super Sunday studio to Milner’s less-than-exciting style.

Ahead of the home clash with West Ham, that Stones missed through injury, he joined Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher in front of the cameras but did not impress harsh viewers.
