BERNARDO SILVA should have taken a dive.

Manchester City's former Monaco midfielder was thrown into the recovery pool by team-mates Yaya Toure and Ederson as the Premier League leaders joked around.

Twelve-goal top scorer Raheem Sterling posted the video on Instagram.

But summer recruit Silva, 23, seemed to enjoy the dip - even lifting his shirt over his head to celebrate as if he had scored a goal.

City pals can be heard cheering as Silva is submerged.

It was Sterling, in fact, who won Sergio Aguero's penalty equaliser and notched City's late winner during their 11th straight away victory, at Huddersfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

City recuperated from that gruelling game with a plunge in their pool.

But Silva in particular will hope to force his way into boss Pep Guardiola's plans as he has made just three Prem starts since his £43million arrival.

The 23-year-old will be anxious for match sharpness ahead of next summer's World Cup finals.

Guardiola, meanwhile, has been quick to salute the transformation in England attacker Sterling's finishing.

The Spaniard said: "He's a winning player. Before, he made good actions but now he is winning games.

"We're in November and he's already broken the record. He’s top but not only with goals.

"I'm impressed. He's young and he can improve.

"If he wants to learn then we'll be there to help him."

But Guardiola insists unbeaten City - eight points clear of second-placed Manchester United - will not match Arsenal's Invincibles of 2003-4.

Guardiola said: "It's impossible to finish unbeaten."
