Arsenal struggle to arrive for 2pm kick-off at Burnley after getting caught up motorway chaos

ARSENAL were caught up in heavy motorway traffic and were left struggling to make today's 2pm kick-off at Burnley.

Reports of an accident on the M65 suggested the Gunners would arrive late - through no fault of their own - at Turf Moor.

They eventually arrived 45 minutes before the scheduled start.

Arsenal fans suffered, too.

Every ticket for the away end was snapped up to maintain the North London club's amazing record their of selling out every away league game in the 21st century.

This game was already proving difficult for the visitors - and that before a ball was kicked in anger.

Over the years Arsenal would have considered this trip a three-point banker.

But the Clarets have already won 22 points from their opening 12 Premier League games and generally don’t lose at home.

In fact, they went into the game on the same number of points as the Gunners.
