Antonio Conte wants Thibaut Courtois’ new Chelsea contract to be sorted out by club as quickly as possible
Belgium international has just 18 months to run on his current deal and is being chased by likes of Juventus and Real Madrid
ANTONIO CONTE is urging Chelsea to sort out the contract stalemate with “best goalkeeper in the world” Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian has said he doesn’t want to discuss his future until closer to the end of the season, when his current deal will have only a year to run.
But the Chelsea manager said: “I like to also to give my opinion about technical decisions but it is also important for the club to face this issue, this contract with Courtois.
“I think that Thibaut didn't need my opinion. He knows very well what are my thoughts about him.
“I can tell you he is one of the best, maybe the best goalkeeper in the world and he is a player very important for Chelsea, but the renewal of contract is a task for the club.
“As you know very well if a big player decides to not sign a new contract it is difficult for the club to face this issue but at the same time there is space to deal with this type of situation and to solve the situation but in this season.”

Reports in Italy claim Juventus are leading the race for Courtois, who wants £210,000-a-week wages.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the stopper.

But Juve could be set to make an approach as they prepare for Gigi Buffon’s retirement next summer.
However, Chelsea will now try to keep Courtois at Stamford Bridge after sacrificing fan favourite Petr Cech for the Belgian in 2014.
