Hull set to sack Leonid Slutsky after just four months with Paul Lambert and Nigel Adkins favourites to replace him
Ex-Russia boss on the brink after a miserable season which leaves the club just four points clear of the Championship relegation zone. The Tigers have won just twice in their last 13 games.
LEONID SLUTSKY is on the brink of being sacked by Hull after just four months in the job.
Former Russia boss Slutsky has endured a miserable spell at the KCOM Stadium having landed his first job in English football last summer.
And Hull are considering swinging the axe with the club languishing just outside the Championship relegation zone instead of challenging for promotion back to the Premier League.
The Hull Daily Mail claim the club's board have already started looking around for potential replacements should they decided enough is enough.
Former Norwich and Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert and ex-Southampton manager Nigel Adkins are the two names currently being considered.
Hull's goalless draw at Millwall last night means the club have won just two of their last 13 matches, and they are only four points above the drop zone.
The club's vice-chairman Ehab Allam made the trip to South London to watch the match, and was again less than impressed by the team's struggles.
Slutsky was appointed in the summer on the recommendation of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich - and Hull hoped he would lead them back to the top flight after relegation last season.

Now the 46-year-old is fighting to save his job with the Tigers currently in more danger of dropping down to League One.
The draw at Millwall means Hull are now five games without a win in the league, and Slutsky says he cannot allow worries over his future to get in the way of his work.

He said: “I am never worried about my job because I can’t work if I am unhappy or in discomfort but now we have a really good atmosphere.
“Everyone supports me. That starts from the owner and finishes with each guy from the staff.
“We are building a team. Not as quickly as I thought before.
"I thought this would be an easy time for me here but now I understand the possibilities of each player. I look forward very positively.”
Ex-Saints and Sheffield United boss Adkins has watched Hull in action several times this season and is believed to be well liked by the board.
And Lambert's proven work in the Championship with Norwich and Wolves has also seen him gain favour with the Tigers hierarchy.
