Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne gave Pep Guardiola’s side all three points and helped them maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

In all competitions, this is City’s 16th consecutive victory, a club record, and with the way they are playing, cutting teams apart on the break, they look unstoppable.

De Bruyne’s stunning strike, coming on the counter after the Foxes had their own chance, was their 40th goal of the current campaign.

They’ve scored 13 goals more than any other club.

Going forward, there is no club who can match their style and decisiveness in the final third.

They can pick teams apart when they sit back and give them a chance and they’ll devastate you on the break.

City’s next three league games see them take on Huddersfield away, then host Southampton and West Ham United at the Etihad.

Although there are no easy games in the English top flight, these are fixtures they will expect to win.

On Tuesday, they take on Feyenoord in the Champions League and after a 4-0 win in Rotterdam, they won’t be fazed by the Dutch side.

The trip to Ukraine to face Shakhtar Donetsk on December 6th won’t be easy, but again very winnable.

If City can make it out of those games unscathed, they will face a much tougher task four days after their trip to Eastern Europe.

Just the small matter of the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

Manchester United welcomed back Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo back into their squad this weekend and the results were instantaneous.

The French midfielder is a difference maker and it’s easy to see he improves the Red Devils.

Playing at home, José Mourinho will be expected to have his team at their best and the expectation they will do everything they can to pick up the win.

It should be a fantastic encounter and worthy of a top of the table clash.
Despite the money Guardiola spent on his defence in the summer, it remains the weak point of their team.
The full-backs push forward on demand, leaving gaps.

When De Bruyne and David Silva push up the pitch, it leaves Fernandinho exposed.

Now with John Stones facing some time out and Vincent Kompany showing signs of rust against the Foxes, there are chinks in the City armour to be tested.

You just need the right team to take the game to them.

The combination of Pogba and Romelu Lukaku makes each player better and both players returned to the scoresheet in the win over Newcastle United.

You add in the pace and instincts of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on either wing, plus the creativity of Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan through the middle and Mourinho has an attack who will truly test the league leaders.

Pep’s winning run may end before the New Year – it could reach 28 games – but that doesn’t mean they are going to lose.

Since the FA Cup Final defeat to Arsenal at Wembley, City are on a 24-game unbeaten run, and it is going to take a very good performance to stop them anytime soon.
