Chelsea loanee Zouden Fankaty Dabo scores unbelievable 30-yard own goal while on loan Vitesse
Young defender has only scored one professional goal before his own goal but this strike will be difficult to top
CHELSEA loanee Zouden Fankaty Dabo was left red faced after scoring an unbelievable 30-yard own goal.
The 22-year-old defender, currently on loan at Dutch outfit Vitesse, has only scored once in his professional career.
And he'll do well to score a better goal despite it being in the wrong net.
With his side 1-0 ahead in the 58th much at struggling Groningen, Dabo was put under pressure on the right flank by his opposing number.
What happens next only he knows.
With his left foot he either attempts to switch the ball to the opposite touchline or find his keeper.
But he watched in disbelief as the ball sailed over his own keeper and into the net to level the scores.
To make matters worse it was keeper Jeroen Houwen's league debut in the Dutch topflight.
And it turned out to be crucial as his side crashed to a 4-2 defeat before Dabo admitted he may get mocked for his strike.
In his post match press conference, he said: "I've apologised to them (his team-mates) already and that's that... if they decide to mock me then so be it."
Dabo has yet to make a first-team appearance at the Blues but gained experience on loan at Swindon last season.
The strike was reminiscent of Arsenal legend Lee Dixon's own goal against Coventry back in 1991.
