NEWCASTLE UNITED are expected to confirm the take over of  the club in the coming week, according to reports.

Rumours of Amanda Staveley and her financial advisory firm PCP Capital Partner's interest in the Magpies first arose last month when she was spotted in the stands watching the club's 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Staveley is one of the country's leading deal-makers and has brokered some of the biggest business buy-outs in recent years.

The Daily Star reports, Staveley has claimed she wants the deal done by December in order to offer transfer funds to Rafa Benitez in January.

Mike Ashley had said earlier this month he also wanted a deal done quickly - but for around £380m.

Staveley signed a non-disclosure agreement last month with Newcastle.

The news will come as boast to Magpie supporters who have long craved a change in ownership.

PCP is backed by £28billion in funds from the Middle East and China and is looking to move into the riches of the top flight in England.

Last month, SunSport exclusively reported goalkeeper Rob Elliot was excited by the talk of a takeover at the club.
