Angel Di Maria opens up on failed Barcelona move and reveals the one club he would never play for
Manchester United flop came close to joining the Nou Camp side after Neymar moved to PSG in the summer
ANGEL DI MARIA has opened up over his failed move to Barcelona.
The former Manchester United legend wanted a move to the Nou Camp after Neymar landed at Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record move last summer.
GOLDEN GOAL It's now 33/1 for a goal to be scored in England vs Germany
It was this ongoing probe that apparently meant Barca chiefs were not able to complete the paperwork to bring the ex-Real Madrid winger to Catalonia.
Speaking about the fiasco, the Argentinian said: "I was close to joining Barcelona in the summer and yet far away at the same time.
"It is hard to complete moves to these clubs.

When you consider the attacking talent on display in the French capital, it is unsurprising Di Maria was lobbying for a move.
Game time has been limited having to compete for a spot alongside Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.
But Di Maria remains open to playing somewhere else - well, apart from one club in particular.
He added: "I'm a fan of Rosario and I would never play for Newell's Old Boys. But aside from that, I would play anywhere."
