Kevin Mirallas blasts reports that he is not ‘committed’ to Everton but apologises to club for not being able to ‘cope with frustration’

Mirallas and Morgan Schneiderlin were both dropped for the Watford game after they failed to impress in training

KEVIN MIRALLAS has apologised to Everton for "not being able to cope with his frustration" but blasted reports that he is not "committed" to the club.

The Belgian winger, along with Morgan Schneiderlin, were left out of the Toffees squad for the 3-2 victory against Watford at the weekend.

And reports last week claimed the pair walked out of a training session, perhaps explaining their absence from the team.

The Liverpool Echo has since reported that Mirallas and Schneiderlin were "invited to leave the session" after coaches were unimpressed with the level of commitment shown.

But Mirallas has posted on social media explaining that David Unsworth took the decision not to include him, and re-affirmed his commitment to the crisis-club.

Writing on Instagram, he said: "I have to restore the truth after some articles in the media.

"I was not excluded from the squad due to a lack of commitment during training, this was a manager decision.

"And I was frustrated as I am fully committed to Everton since arriving in 2012 and I can’t accept our actual ranking.

"I apologise to the president and owner, my team-mates and the manager for not being able to cope at that moment with my frustration."

Schneiderlin has also taken to Instagram to have his say on the unsavoury media reports.

He wrote on Instagram: "The stories are not true. I am fully committed to Everton and will continue to work hard for the club and fans in training and on the pitch."

Mirallas has dipped in and out of the first-team throughout his five years with the club.

The Belgian international has hardly figured this season, and it will be up to the club's next manager to determine what punishment awaits the duo.

Everton sacked Ronald Koeman last month after dropping into the relegation zone and Unsworth, despite the dramatic 3-2 win against Watford, is not expected to land the role full-time.

Sam Allardyce is the favourite the be the club's next manager after meeting owner Farhad Moshiri.
