Manchester City want Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in £44million deal but Barcelona are also keen on superstar
Defender was once hailed as 'best in the world' by Pep Guardiola and it seems Etihad boss is keen on a reunion
MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly ready to rival Barcelona for Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.
Bild via Sport claims the duo are keen on the Germany international and ready to launch £44million bids.
However, Bayern have no interest in selling Kimmich and insist he would cost a lot more than what City and Barca are apparently looking to offer.
The 22-year-old has quickly become a key player at the Allianz Arena following a £6m move from RB Leipzig in 2015.
Despite starting out as a central midfielder before moving to centre-back under Pep Guardiola, Kimmich is now used as Bayern’s first-choice right-back.
And it appears his former boss wants to make use of his versatility once more as City look to clinch their first Premier League title since 2014.

Guardiola famously heralded Kimmich as one of the world’s best defenders months before his Bayern departure.
But whether the ace fancies a reunion remains to be seen, with reported interest from Barcelona also likely to complicate matters.

Bayer are determined to keep hold of Kimmich though, with Sporting Director Michael Reschke insisting he would command an astronomical fee should the Bundesliga champions decide to cash in.
He said: “Joshua has a much higher transfer value. And I believe that FC Bayern wouldn’t give Jo up even for 50 million euros.”
