Marcus Rashford raps arm round Victor Lindelof as Manchester United teenager helps £31million cope with rough start
Swedish defender had a nightmare against Huddersfield at the weekend but he was helped over his bump by England striker
VICTOR LINDELOF has been getting much-needed encouragement from teenage Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford.
The £31million summer signing had a nightmare against Huddersfield at the weekend after replacing injured Phil Jones.
But he was handed a start against Swansea last night and grabbed the chance to redeem himself with both hands as United kept a cleansheet in the 2-0 win.
Jose Mourinho threw a figurative arm his Swedish defender and backed him after his weekend debacle.
But youngster Rashford showed maturity beyond his years by boosting the centre-back’s confidence with a physical show of support against the Welsh side.
After the Rash set up Jesse Lingard’s opener, the 19-year-old took the time to seek out Lindelof and give him a lift.
Speaking after the game about Lindelof and youngsters Scott McTominay and Alex Tuanzebe, Mourinho said: “The kids are always the kids so when they play it is nice, it is good,
“When they perform well it is even better.

“I decided to play with three because Victor was not coming with his confidence levels very, very high, so I decided to play both with the experience of Smalling and we were OK.
“It was good for the players to get confidence.”
