Real Madrid news: Bernabeu president denies interest in signing Tottenham and England star Harry Kane

Florentino Perez rules out a move for the forward and insists he is happy with Karim Benzema as he also denies he asked Daniel Levy for a valuation on the 24-year-old

REAL MADRID have ruled out a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane... for now.

The Galacticos have been linked for a sensational swoop for the England international over the past few weeks due to his superb form for club and country.

But Bernabeu president Florentino Perez has dismissed those claims and insisted his happy with current forward Karim Benzema.

Speaking to Spanish radio show El Partidazo on Cadena COPE, he said: "Signing Harry Kane has not passed through my head.

"He is a great player and in addition he is young.

"He has many years to progress, but we are delighted with Benzema and with all of the team."

It was widely reported that Madrid asked Spurs for their valuation of Kane when the two clubs met in Spain for last week's Champions League clash.

However, Perez was adamant that conversation never took place as he Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would quote a world-record fee.

The supremo added: "I didn't ask Tottenham's president for the price because he would have told me that he is worth €250m."

As SunSport revealed last week, Madrid remain convinced that they will sign Kane next summer - despite Perez's latest comments.

He is still their No1 transfer target after taking his tally to 45 goals for club and country this year to 45 with a brace against Liverpool on Sunday during the 4-1 Premier league win.

Tottenham have no intention of letting the 24-year-old leave with the player himself insisting he is happy at the club.

But the appeal of playing for the European super club is one almost impossible to turn down, especially if Kane harbours hopes of winning the game's biggest trophies.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the frontman and spoke about the potential of the Spanish giants recruiting him to their ranks.

The french legend said last week: "I do not know what will happen in the future.

"He is a key player for Tottenham. He is very good at everything, the best thing is that he always has the goal in his head."

And although he is keen to help fire Spurs to success, Kane recently refused to rule out the idea of moving on from the North London side in the future.

He said: "I would never say no or yes. You'd not rule out anything.

"It's not something I definitely want to do, but you never rule anything out. I'm very happy here, but we'll see what happens."
