Former Tottenham and Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp admits interest in Scotland job
The 70-year-old says taking charge of Scotland would be a 'fantastic' job and admits he watched more of their games than England's
FORMER Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he would be interested in the Scotland job.
The 70-year-old has been out of work since being sacked as Birmingham City manager last month.
But he has now revealed he would be interested in taking over from Gordon Strachan as Scotland boss.
The SFA gave Strachan the axe earlier this month following yet another World Cup qualifying failure.
And Redknapp admitted he reckons it would be "fantastic" to take charge of Scotland.
Asked if he would be interested in the job, Redknapp told the BBC: "Of course.

"It must be a fantastic job to have. I think Gordon did what he could.
"I must be truthful, I watched the Scotland games and not the England games, because there was nothing on the England games.
"Those last two Scotland games, the win against Slovakia, the late goal, I kicked every ball that day.
"Then I thought Scotland had a chance, and then 1-0 up in the second game, it would've been a real great achievement to have qualified, but I think Gordon did what he could.
"It's a difficult job.
"I wouldn't see myself having any chance of getting it, but it would be a great job for someone."
Meanwhile, Redknapp gave his backing to his long-time No2 and former Scotland star Joe Jordan to take charge.
He added: "Joe would be a good man - you'd have your life on Joe, he's a fantastic fellow.
"You'd have him on your side any day of the week.
"He's a very quiet gentleman away from the pitch for someone who was so aggressive on it.
"But when Joe speaks, you listen, because he talks an awful lot of common sense."
