Jurgen Klopp takes full responsibilty for Liverpool’s collapse against Spurs but says he would have stopped Harry Kane opener

JURGEN KLOPP took responsibility for Liverpool’s “bad, bad, bad defending” but insists he would have stopped Harry Kane’s first goal if he was playing instead of Dejan Lovren.
Tottenham ripped Klopp’s men apart at Wembley, slashing the Anfield side with counter-attack goals after they had dominated possession and done nothing with it.
Lovren had a nightmare for Spurs’ opening goal on four minutes and was hooked after just 31 minutes.
But Klopp wanted to take all the blame for the way his side collapsed against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Klopp said: "The whole game, the whole result was all our fault - Tottenham was good, they needed to be good, but we made it much too easy for them.
"The first goal was a little throw in and we are not really there. It was just really bad, bad, bad defending.

"The second, a counter attack, when the ball passes Dejan Lovren it is already too late.
"Coming back in the game with the goal we had our chances, but it's nothing to talk about today.
"The third one, it's a completely open situation. We make the foul, again, all our fault. The fourth - second ball and third ball for Tottenham, their desire was bigger than ours.
"The game was finished then. We came here for a result and had not one second to get a result."
On Lovren's defending for Kane's opener, he said: “If I am involved in this situation on the pitch, then Harry cannot get the ball.
"I could have been out there in my trainers and they wouldn’t have scored.
“We had it felt like 60, 70 per cent possession, but after 2-0, you saw the goals, what we did around the goals, easy to defend, we have defended situations like this all season.
"We had our chances, scored one, and the game was on the table.
“Being down one goal at Tottenham, you can fix it. The third is down to completely not concentrating off the ball. Four mistakes from us, and then Dele doesn't even hit the ball 100%.
"After 10 minutes of the second half we gave another goal away.
"That shows the problem of the game - they were much more spot on and that's 100% our responsibility.
