Antonio Conte insists he will not quit Chelsea despite claiming this season is the most difficult of his career
Watford should have left west London with three points and a major scalp but the Blues battled back to avoid a crisis
ANTONIO CONTE will not quit Chelsea even though his prediction that this title-defending season would be the hardest of his career has come true.
The Blues snatched a 4-2 victory from Watford on Saturday, with the Hornets by far the better side.
And there has been speculation around the club that the Italian Stamford Bridge boss could walk out on the Premier League side.
When reminded of his August premonition, Conte said: “I was a magician to anticipate it. For sure, you hope you won't have problems in your season. But, I repeat, I stay here to work.
“I stay here to put all myself into this club, for the fans and the players, me and my staff.
"I'm a person who is not afraid to face difficulties. My history speaks very clearly on that. I fought in the relegation zone [in Italy].

“I started my career very badly, my first experience [at Arezzo], but I understood and learned a lot from this.
"I repeat: I have experience, a lot of experience, as a player and as a coach of facing this type of situation."
Watford boss Marco Silva was gutted to lose after spending 22 minutes in the lead in West London.
The former Hull boss said the scoreline failed to reflect the match he felt his side did more than enough to win.

Silva said: "It is a really unfair result. It didn't reflect the match and what we saw on the pitch.
"I'm proud of how we played, but of course I'm really frustrated.
“It showed our way and we need to continue in this way."
