Everton on alert as Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca admits he wants Premier League switch
Fonseca came close to landing Toffees gig before but now says moving to England could happen 'soon'
EVERTON have been placed on red alert after Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca revealed he is dreaming of a Premier League switch "soon".
Ronald Koeman paid the price for the Toffees' wretched form with the sack after their 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal.
Previously, SunSport told you Rafa Benitez was in the frame to replace him with Sean Dyche also linked to the vacant role at Goodison Park.
But now it appears Fonseca, 44, is lining up the gig for himself in an interview with the Telegraph.
Fonseca was among the candidates to replace Roberto Martinez in 2016 before Blues bosses plumped for Koeman.
And it looks like Fonseca - who will reportedly be given a seal of approval for any Prem job by Pep Guardiola - is planning on rounding off some unfinished business.
The Mozambique-born coach, whose contract expires at the end of the season, said: "All coaches want to go to England and I am one.
"I have this dream and I believe this can happen. I believe a lot this can happen. If it's soon or not, I have this dream.
"I have a big, big passion about the game and the atmosphere in England is amazing. I hope one day to live it.
"It’s the biggest league in the world. For any coach, to work in England can be amazing. You have the best coaches and the best players."
